Pleased to share that my short story, “The Pearl,” just appeared in a print short fiction anthology, What Comes to Light<\/em>, a charity fundraising anthology to benefit The Wildlife Trusts<\/a> in the UK and published by the literary journal, Trash Cat Lit<\/a><\/em>. Many thanks to JP Relph, whose passion for contemporary fiction shouts volumes in this wonderful anthology she edited.

First published in Oak Tree Journal in 2023 (thanks, Ralph Pennel<\/a>!), \u201cThe Pearl\u201d follows a woman who mourns the recent death of her grandmother through a series of objects left to her, one that opens up a space of reflection about her que_er identity and relation to her family. I wrote this story after my grandma died a few years ago, and while \u201cThe Pearl\u201d is entirely a work of fiction, for me, it\u2019s tightly bound up with that work of mourning.
