Throughout the 2024-2025 academic year, I worked weekly toward earning the certification in online “Effective Teaching Practices Framework” offered by The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). This robust certification was divided into four main courses:
- Creating a Productive Learning Environment
- Promoting Active Learning Online
- Inspiring Inquiry and Lifelong Learning in Your Courses
- Designing Learner-Centered Courses
This certification bolstered my online teaching knowledge and abilities, giving me the chance to further refine my online courses according to evidence-based practices. I’m grateful to ACUE’s instructors and the generous funding made available to me for this course through Cuyahoga Community College. I’ve implemented a lot of the practices I learned already and look forward to applying more of this knowledge in all of the online courses I teach.
