I thoroughly enjoyed reading “The Pearl” and especially hearing all the other contributors’ share their brilliant stories in their own voices at Trash Cat Lit‘s celebration of its first charity-fundraiser story collection, What Comes to Light. This event was held over Zoom on August 29, 2026. “The Pearl” is particularly special to me, as I wrote it following my grandma’s death a few years back, her passing and our mourning complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m honored to be part of the Trash Cat Family!
