I’m honored to be stepping into a new role at Cuyahoga Community College by serving as Westshore Campus Vice President of our American Association of University Professors (AAUP) chapter at Cuyahoga Community College. I’ll be filling in for a colleague who is on sabbatical this year. With unprecedented attacks from state (Ohio) and federal governments, it’s never been more important for all of us in higher education to rally together and advocate with a unified voice for our students, our profession, and for academic freedom and integrity, all of which are under direct threat and attack. For many years, I’ve served our AAUP chapter as its Technology Consultant, including design and maintenance of our website, www.ccc-aaup.org. I look forward to the new challenges and, most of all, supporting my outstanding colleagues as we strive for professional excellence during these difficult times.
